1. What is Null Scientific?

Null Scientific is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal focused on publishing negative results, null findings, and unexpected data across all scientific disciplines. We aim to create a platform that supports transparency, reproducibility, and innovation by sharing research outcomes that would otherwise remain unpublished.

2. Who can submit to Null Scientific?

Researchers, scientists, and scholars from all disciplines are welcome to submit their work. If you have a negative result, unexpected data, or null finding that contributes to scientific understanding, we encourage you to submit your work.

3. What is the submission process?

To submit an article, create an account on our submission platform and follow the submission guidelines. Articles must be submitted in the appropriate format and meet the specified requirements for review.

4. What types of articles can be submitted?

We accept short communications, case reports, data notes, reviews of null findings, and other concise pieces of research. Full-length research articles are not accepted.

5. Are there any fees for submission?

Yes, we charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) of EUR. 500 for accepted articles. However, until December 2025, we are offering a waiver for the APC, and this waiver may be extended at our discretion.

6. How long does it take for my submission to be reviewed?

The review timeline may vary depending on reviewer availability and article complexity.

7. How do I become a reviewer for Null Scientific?

To become a reviewer, you can express interest through our platform or by contacting us. You will need to have expertise in the area relevant to the article and be willing to adhere to our ethical review guidelines.

8. Can I submit a preprint?

Yes, you can submit your article as a preprint. However, please note that the main body of the article should mention that it has been available as a preprint. Submissions will not be rejected solely based on preprint status.

9. How does the peer review process work?

Our peer review process is double-blind, meaning that reviewers will not know the identity of the authors and authors will not know the identities of the reviewers. Reviewers assess the validity, quality, and significance of the submission. Authors may suggest potential reviewers, however selection of reviewers is subject to editorial decision.

10. What is the journal's policy on conflicts of interest?

All authors and reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the research or review process. This includes financial interests, personal relationships, and other factors that could potentially bias the work.

Articles published in Null Scientific are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) license, meaning they can be freely accessed and shared for non-commercial purposes, but cannot be modified.

12. Can I refer to another article with positive results from the same study?

Yes, if applicable, you may refer to the full research article where the positive results of your study have been published. This is optional but can help provide context to your negative results.
